Unlike other melt blown surface variants which modify the geometry of the PP fibre structure itself, the matte cartridge adds a distinct PP cotton thread layer on the outer surface. This outer layer acts as a coarse pre-filter: larger particles are trapped here before they reach the depth filtration zone, delaying differential pressure build-up and extending the service life of the inner depth filtration wall. This makes it particularly effective on liquids with a wide, unpredictable distribution of particle sizes.
