A membrane filter cartridge is a precision filtration device that uses polyethersulfone (PES), PTFE, PVDF, or Nylon membranes to remove particles as small as 0.02 µm from liquids. It is used in pharmaceuticals, electronics, and food & beverage industries for sterile filtration, high-purity water production, and chemical process filtration.

• Polyethersulfone (PES) membrane filter cartridge — pharmaceutical sterilization, biotech, general high-purity liquid filtration
• PTFE membrane filter cartridge — corrosive solvents, acids, high-temperature gas filtration
• Hydrophilic PVDF membrane filter cartridge — low protein adsorption, biologics, aggressive aqueous solutions
• Nylon membrane filter cartridge — aqueous solutions, mild solvents, cost-effective sterile filtration
• PFA membrane filter cartridge — semiconductor ultra-pure water, aggressive chemical processes
• PBT polyester membrane filter cartridge — high-temperature applications up to 120°C
• Glass Fiber membrane filter cartridge — high dirt-load liquid prefiltration and gas filtration

A membrane filter cartridge consists of four main components: outer cage (support frame), filter membrane (filtration layer), end caps (sealing), and sealing rings (gasket). All components use thermal welding without adhesives to prevent contamination.

Material compatibility:

• Standard applications: Polypropylene (PP) cage and end caps
• Corrosive chemicals: PVDF or PFA cage and end caps required
• Chemical resistance: PP withstands general acids/alkalis but NOT strong organic solvents like acetone or chloroform

• Connection / End Cap Styles: DOE (Double Open End), 222 O-ring, 222 Fin, 226 O-ring, 226 Fin. Connection style must match your filter housing — confirm before ordering. Custom configurations are available.

Membrane filter cartridges work by applying pressure to force liquid through a multi-layer membrane with gradient pore sizes (coarse to fine). Particles larger than the rated micron size are trapped in the membrane layers, while clean liquid passes through.

Working principle:

1. Liquid enters under pressure (0.5-4 bar)
2. Gradient membrane traps particles layer by layer
3. Contaminants stay upstream, clean water exits downstream
4. Multi-layer design extends filter life

Result: Up to 99.99% particle removal with absolute-rated filtration.

For feeds with high particle loads, a melt blown filter cartridge or pleated filter cartridge is often installed upstream as a pre-filter to extend membrane service life.

The production process involves 7 steps: pleating membrane material → seaming with ultrasonic welding → installing outer frame tube → cutting excess material → welding end caps → installing seal rings → packaging in clean room.

Production steps:

1. Pleating: Membrane material pleated to precise height and corrugation count
2. Seaming: Ultrasonic welding joins the middle seam (no adhesives)
3. Install tube: Pleated membrane inserted into outer frame
4. Cutting: Excess material trimmed to specification
5. Welding end cap: Thermal welding seals end caps
6. Install seal ring: Gasket installed for housing compatibility
7. Packaging: Sealed in plastic bags, packed in cartons
